IMOCA 60

Alex Thomsons HUGO BOSS 2016 was a reolutionary design by Guillaume Verdier/VPLP. Jonathan was the in-house Design Engineer for Alex’s 2016-2017 Vendee Globe campaign. His involvement spanned from the build shed to the start of the Vendee Globe. Alex finished 2nd, setting world records on his way around the globe including the monohull singlehanded 24hr distance record.

36ft ONE-DESIGN

The ClubSwan36 is a 36ft One-Design Grand Prix racing sailing boat and the entry point into the prestigious ClubSwan family. Jonathan was the in-house Project Leader for the design and optimism of the ClubSwan 36 inside the Juan K office. To date, more then 25 One-Design boats have been built and are actively campaigned. The ClubSwan 36 won the Innovation Award at 2020 European Yacht of the Year Awards.

IMOCA 60

Corum was designed and built for Nicolas Tussel to campaign in the 2021-2022 Vendee Globe and IMOCA World Series events. Jonathan was the in-house Project Leader in the Juan K office, for the design and optimisation of the vessel, working closely with the highly regarded 2x Vendee Globe winning skipper Michael Desjoyeaux. The vessel has had several performance upgrades and remains a top competitive vessel in the IMOCA fleet.

80ft CARBON RACER/CRUISER

The ClubSwan 80 is an elegant and sophisticated high performance 80ft racing machine. The yacht combines a lightweight refined interior with thoroughbred racing design, optimised to perform at its best in the light wind of the Mediterranean Summer. Jonathan was the in-house Project Leader within the Juan K Naval Architecture office and remains involved with her continual rating and performance optimisations.

PRIVATE SUPERYACHT

Jonathan was the Project Leader within the Juan K office for the design and construction of a 44m Aluminium Superyacht, designed to comply to the rigorous Lloyds scantlings regulations and Red Ensign Large Yacht Code. The yacht features many high-performance features not common in the Superyacht market. The boat is currently being fitted out in Amsterdam, due to launch in 2025.

30ft CLUB RACER

Jonathan is currently working on a concept together with Venturi Projects for the design of a high-performance Club Racer for the Australian market. The Club30 will Cat 2 offshore capable yacht, whilst deliver an exhillarating sailing experience. The goal is to create a fleet of Club30s represented by the Yacht Clubs of Australia and campaigned by their elite youth athletes and club members.
